Account Receiving Specialist

Summary: process incoming payments and secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts. Assist AR Lead with reporting and data analytics of incoming funds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply cash receipts appropriately within the accounting system.
- Process customer payments via credit card and check-by-phone
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short pays, and unidentified receipts in a timely manner.
- Support the AR Lead with the monitoring of delinquent accounts; making collection calls.
- Review & upload customer tax certificates to Avalara.
- Process customer credit applications.
- Assist employees, clients and customers with questions related to AR services.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates degree or equivalent education or higher preferred
- Six months to one year of related accounting experience and/or training
- Experience with ERP or accounting software, Dynamics 365 preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with both accounting team and customers
- Fluency in Spanish a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and also function as a member of a coordinated team
- Intermediate technological and MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment is usually moderately quiet and is climate controlled.
