The Smardt family is growing, and we need smar(d)t, motivated, flexible and solution-driven individuals to help us reach new levels.

We are looking to add a Shipping Clerk to our service department. Reporting to Mo Saleh, the Shipping Clerk will handle heavy and parcel freight shipping, receiving, packaging, and assist the warehouse team.

What will your days look like as a Shipping Clerk?

• Maintain accurate inventory records in NAV systems and submit Inventory reports frequently.
• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
• Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing, and unpacking. May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates.
• Filling the stock room orders and weighing and checking materials.
• Pick and package service orders and recommend and implement packaging best practices
• Document items per package, and enclose a checklist on multiple/partial packages.
• Maintain and operate a safe work environment
• Update the team on the delivery schedule. Transfer items between stores as needed.
• Responsible for the shipped packages quality
• Other duties as required and applicable
• Communicate with logistic and freight companies on shipping related issues.

• Forklift operation knowledge.
• Some warehousing knowledge.
• Inventory control knowledge.
• Significant shipping, both parcel and heavy freight
• Ability to lift packages up to 70 pounds.
• Bridge crane operation (asset)
• Understand WHMIS and Trained/certified in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) (asset)
• Secondary education
