    Job Summary:

    The Compliance Specialist is responsible to ensure site compliance with national and regional regulatory rules and standards. Provides coaching, training, and functions as a trusted advisor to the site on all regulatory matters. Conduct routine audits to ensure and endorse site compliance with regulatory rules and standards. Position reports to VP of Legal and Compliance and has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Site Operations Director.

    Major Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Maintains relationships with local regulatory contacts (CRA-Michigan/CCC-Massachusetts) associated with the sites operation.
    • Item and location creations in METRC. Update the SOP to reflect new items so all sites can reference.

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Compliance Specialist

    • Grant permissions in METRC for new and current employees based on their job responsibilities.
    • Correspond with METRC to support department functions. This includes requesting virtual transfers when necessary.
    • Package adjustments- in certain situations, a supervisor must be granted approval before adjustments can be made.
    • Administering site level assistance with all employees using METRC.
    • Ensure all chemicals are labeled with the proper safety warnings and maintain the SDS log.
    • Maintain 30-hour training with OSHA.
    • Make sure all floor plans are up to date.
    • Ensure all PPE requirements are met in accordance with Company policy and State regulations.
    • Submitting re-orders for METRC tags.

    Audits

    • Biomass Audit
    • Green Waste Audit (compare METRC values to Log Book Values)
    • Finished Goods- Correct weights and amount of case packs are accurate in METRC-monthly audit.
    • Lift Logs- Review that logs are completed daily- monthly audit.
    • Balance Calibration- Review that morning and afternoon logs are being completed for weight accuracy- weekly audit.
    • Cameras- 30 day retention checks and camera angles have not been altered. Also make sure a still picture can be printed with the date and time on it.
    • Perform regular audits and quality checks of in-line products and final goods.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    Compliance experience within a highly regulated industry is highly recommended.

    2+ years of inventory management experience in manufacturing or production is preferred.

    2+ years of experience with METRC system, preferred but not required.

    Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, high level of organizational skills and the ability to produce concise, informative reports.

    Solid Microsoft Office skills, specifically with Word and Excel

    Available to work 40+ hours per week

    Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment.

    Able to work independently and with others.

    Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

    Ability to manage efficient processes, process improvement, reporting skills.

    Must pass a background check.

    Must comply with all legal regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
