- Currently enrolled and attending an accredited school of registered nursing. May be enrolled in an (accredited) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (BSN) or Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Program.

About the unitThis is Neuro Surgery focused Medical Surgical floor that was established in 3/2018.
Our patients include the post-operative surgical patients related to Spine and Ortho Spine, C- Spine, Lumbar and Thoracic Spine surgeries, as well as patients staying for Extended recovery after general out-patient surgical procedures.
The Medical patient population includes, Mental Status changes, Seizures, GI bleed, Pneumonia.Stroke, Polydrug Abuse, ETOH Abuse on CIWA pathways, Psychiatric patients, Palliative Care, hospice, Multiple Sclerosis, Isolation patients and patients with other infections and Complex family issues.
The unit has 8 telemetry beds to monitor patients with suspected cardiac involvement.About Dearborn Hospital

Scope of work
Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients.
Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients; ambulating, moving and turning patients; assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices; making patient beds and caring for personal property.
Assists in performing additional nursing procedures such as catheterizations, suctioning, irrigating colostomies, applying restraints, giving enemas, douches and sitz baths or pericare.
