    Full-time Evening Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm)


    Position Summary :
    Responsible for managerial functions of the Collections and Processing departments at MVH.


    Essential duties and responsibilities :


    Provide direct supervision and daily leadership to the Collections and Processing departments in concert with CompuNet's mission, vision and values to meet business objectives and customer expectations.

    Oversee the development of departmental staffing plans, ensure that daily schedules and work assignments fulfill requirements for optimal service delivery.

    Review timekeeping system data on a regular basis, submit completed payroll records on time, manage department overtime.
    Assist in the development and management of the department budget.

    Oversee the development of training programs and competency assessment tools; Ensure records of training and competency are maintained as required.

    Interview and select new employees, oversee initial training and ongoing development through coaching, continuing education, competency assessment and the performance appraisal process.

    Set goals and objectives, determine appropriate corrective action and document employee performance throughout the year.
    Provide clear, consistent communication to staff through regularly scheduled meetings, memos, bulletin boards and personal communication.

    Collaborate with other managers to ensure that patient care is consistent across shifts; ensure smooth shift transitions and shift-to-shift communication.

    Develop departmental compliance, ergonomic, and safety procedures as needed based on company policies; ensure departmental compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures.

    Develop, support and promote customer and patient satisfaction/customer service initiatives. Facilitate positive communication and interaction of Specimen Control team members with internal/external customers, including the MVH Administrative Officers.

    Write and implement procedures for current and new processes under the discretion of the Assistant Director, MVH Lab Support Services.

    Perform all non-technical, administrative or educational duties as assigned.
    Ensure readiness for accreditation and inspection visits by regulatory agencies
    Oversee the ordering of supplies.

    Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization by promoting and encouraging the continuous improvement philosophy, including Six Sigma and Lean.

    Participate as part of the CompuNet Management Team, attending appropriate meetings and participating in various committees and teams as needed.

    Perform phlebotomy collections as needed
    Other duties as assigned or needed.

    Qualifications :
    Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    Minimum of 3 – 5- years in phlebotomy and demonstrated success handling increasing responsibilities in a medical laboratory environment.
    Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
    Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).

    Ability to multitask – be able to maintain focus on several different tasks at the same time, be able to keep on task with many interruptions during the course of the day.

    Sound reasoning ability and independent judgment.
    Ability to work within specified deadlines and timetables.
    Excellent communication and people skills.
    Ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.

    Physical demands and work environment :
    Visual acuity and hand-finger dexterity to work at computer for extended periods.
    Perform accurate data entry and data analysis in a potentially noisy environment.
    Read/see small print on labels.
    Lift and carry, with both hands, weights up to 20 pounds for distances up to 50 yards.
    Lift a weight up to 50 pounds from the floor to an approximate height of five feet.
    Manual dexterity to be able to manipulate various collection devices
    Stand for extended periods of time.
    Repeatedly walk short distances.
    Work well under pressure or in stressful circumstances.

    Safety demands and requirements:
    Will have exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.
    Be familiar with and adhere to safety, ergonomic and health policies of the Company.
    Comply with all PPE requirements when in the laboratory or other biohazard areas.
    Complete required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
    Anticipate safety hazards, act upon unsafe situations and promote safety awareness.
