    We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations.
    • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
    • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
    • Identify patient information, label images, and compare requisitions to physician's orders to ensure exam accuracy.
    • Process images, prepare records, and enter patient information into the radiology information system.
    • Assist and communicate with radiologists, preparing them for exams and providing support during procedures.
    • Maintain accurate billing codes and patient charges, adhering to regulatory requirements.
    • Transport patients safely, utilizing proper technique and lifting up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist.

    Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required:

    • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
    • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.

    Education and Experience:

    • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology beyond high school.
    • No prior experience is required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
    • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively with physicians, patients, and staff members.
    • Intermediate computer skills.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching above shoulders.
    • Prolonged standing/walking throughout the day.
    • Lifting up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist, lifting up to 20 pounds over the head, and carrying up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
    • Pushing/pulling with 30 pounds of force, performing a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with assistance, and operating necessary equipment.
    • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids; personal protective equipment must be worn accordingly.
