    Job Description


    • Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Reads and understands blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
    • Selects proper size and type of building materials according to the project specifications and dimensions.
    • Plans the installation to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of the other workers.
    • Prepares the layout using rule, framing square, plumb bob, and chalk line.
    • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials, using pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
    • Shapes materials to prescribed measurements, using saws, chisels, plasma cutters, oxy/acetylene torches, and planes.
    • Assembles, cut and shapes materials by fastening them together with nails, dowel pins, welders or adhesives.
    • Verifies the trueness of a structure using a plumb bob and carpenters level.
    • Erects framework for structures.
    • Skilled in signaling a crane with an applied knowledge of rigging.
    • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
    • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
    • Loads transports, unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
    • Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
    • Cleans and performs minor maintenance activities on tools, rigging, and equipment.
    • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
    • Restocks supplies and materials as necessary.
    • Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with tools and building materials.
    • Typically requires a minimum of 48 months industrial construction experience.
