    Description

    Job Title: Senior Accountant

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a strong understanding of financial regulations. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
    • Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
    • Analyze financial data and provide insightful variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Coordinate and facilitate the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
    • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
    • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor management.
    • Monitor and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Assist with audits conducted by external auditors, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.
    • Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards, implementing updates as necessary.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
    • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
    • Thorough understanding of GAAP and experience preparing financial statements.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial reporting.
