The Cloud Operations team is responsible for providing scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions on which Cvents software-as-a-service (SaaS) products are hosted. We strive to deliver best-practice cloud architectures using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Cvents compute, storage, transit, and infrastructure compliance needs. You will be collaborating with our Database, Enterprise Services, Security and Site Reliability Engineers in US, Canada, and India to build and implement infrastructure using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) written in TypeScript. This infrastructure will need to meet our external service level agreements (SLAs) and internal service level objectives (SLOs).

• Drive technical solution discussions with the team, diving into the details to solve problems, and using your knowledge to develop the required cloud infrastructure.
• Lead the way by owning the technology that supports one or more infrastructure domains such as managing assets (servers, databases, load balancers), securing infrastructure, and/or building tools to manage infrastructure.
• Review code developed by junior and senior engineers and offer guidance to ensure the written code meets the teams architectural guidelines.
• A typical workday consists of 1/2 programming and automation development, 1/4 reviewing code (i.e., pull requests), and 1/4 assisting internal clients on operational matters.

• 5+ years of deep technical experience in technology (e.g., software development, cloud computing, infrastructure engineering, and/or security engineering).
• 3+ years on a team which manages Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure that hosts multiple public-facing software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications running on both Windows and Linux platforms.
• 2+ years of software development experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, configuration management scripts, and infrastructure automation.
• 2+ years of building automation tools to handle operational tasks using Python.
• 2+ years building infrastructure-as-code solutions using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) written with TypeScript or 2+ years writing TypeScript, or another JavaScript language.
• Prior experience in communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including peer lead engineers and junior team members.
• Have guided or be willing to guide technical talent across a global team operating in India, Canada, and the US.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years using a configuration management tool (e.g. AWS Systems Manager (SSM), Chef, and/or Ansible) to automate the installation of applications and configuration of operating system settings on both Windows and Linux.

Due to the 24x7x365 nature of Cloud Infrastructure Operations, this role may require a flexible work schedule and off-hours support from time to time.
