    Summary:
    Ensures the efficient and effective daily business and clinical operations of the Ophthalmology practice. Ensures efficient interdisciplinary team communication and interaction. Must ensure the provision of ophthalmology care for appropriate patient population. Supervises the daily operations of the reception and discharge functions for ambulatory practice operations. Ensures the effective and efficient coordination of the patient scheduling system. Coordinates practice operations to support integrated billing with Patient Services and Administration. Ensures the professional competence and performance of the clinical staff. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.


    Qualifications:

    Required:

    Certified for a minimum of 1 year as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), or Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT).

    Strong knowledge of all related ophthalmology equipment and functions. Ability to perform photography.

    Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in a health care environment encompassing operational and clinical experience, fiscal operations, and personnel management.

    Leadership, teaching, mentoring, customer service, and good interpersonal skills along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups. Evidence of continuing professional self-development. Strong quantitative skills, including knowledge of personal computers and information systems.

    Preferred:
    Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of clinical assessments for uncertified/certified Ophthalmic Technicians.

    Physical Demands:
    May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
