    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Position Title:
    Director, Prd Grp Valves & Modules

    Position Summary:
    This position is responsible for developing & implementing regional product & customer strategies for Valves & Modules. Position has commercial responsibilities relative to product changes, pricing, profitability & contract review at the regional level. Accountable for the budgeting & forecasting for the regional product group. The position must manage in an agile practice.


    Essential Functions:

    Develops regional product segment roadmap/ strategy in line with global product strategy
    Translates regional customer requirements into regional and global product roadmap
    Manages region-specific product adjustments together with global R&D sitting in region
    Defines regional value proposition and commercialization of product group portfolio (incl. pricing) together with R&D and Technical Sales
    Drives regional projects
    Prepares Regional Business cases outlining the resources, timing, and budget needed for the regional project and is responsible for regional financial performance based on at least HK 1 and respective regional Business Cases
    Feeds Business Case inputs towards global product group leadership.
    Provides regional product group input on STRAP
    Plans and steers the project in terms of time, cost and quality
    Aligns targets and gate reviews on product with product group leadership
    Monitors work packages of team members and assists in addressing barriers and roadblocks to task completion.
    Performs pre-gate review and prepares gate review to release phase
    Initiates project change requests (scope, budget, timeline) and clarifies with project champion
    Identifies, monitors and reports project risks/ project target deviation and plans and directs countermeasures and eventually initiates escalation measures
    Closes project – performs lessons learned and hands over to line organization
    Conducts assessment of market shares and competitor landscape
    Executes customer product strategy reflecting regional requirements (in close alignment with R-KAM)
    Supports innovation management of product portfolio with regional and market-specific requirements
    Executes regional patent strategy and patent application
    Verifies existing/planned product portfolio vs. market requirements with roadmap
    Monitors and controls introduction of new part numbers and product variants
    Defines/initiates and conducts follow-up of regional development projects for new products/product platforms
    Agile Practice

    Essential Functions:

    Sets a strategic vision for the whole Meta Scrum
    Creates a single, prioritized backlog of value to be delivered by all of the teams (these items are typically larger Product Backlog Items that will need further refinement & decomposition by the team POs.)

    At the executive/meta level, leads the MetaScrum event where the overall Product Backlog is presented and alignment with stakeholders is achieved.

    Works closely with their associated Scrum of Scrums Master so that the Release Plan that the Product Owner team generates can be deployed efficiently.

    Monitors customer product feedback, as well as product feedback from the Meta Scrum, and adjusts the backlog accordingly.

    Knowledge:
    In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and controls.
    Ideal candidate will be familiar with product development and manufacturing processes used to produce Mechanical & electrical components.
    In-depth understanding of Bendix business processes.
    In-depth understanding of the trucking industry – its customers, manufacturers, associations, and regulatory issues.
    Knowledge of agile practices and application.

    Experience:
    Minimum of 7 -10 years' experience, preferably in engineering or program management with increasing levels of responsibility.
    Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market.
    Experience in electronic controls and/or pneumatic vehicle braking systems is a plus.

    Skills:
    Leads teams to drive new projects & programs in anticipation of business needs.
    Candidate must have excellent strategic skills & have demonstrated these skills in previous jobs.
    Globally capable – Must be comfortable working with and leading colleagues and customers in all regions as required. Able to adapt to the diversity and challenges of local and global working teams.
    Possesses the skills to succeed in a hybrid matrix organization.
    Strong business management (financial and portfolio analysis) and negotiation skills.
    Strong interpersonal, written, and, oral communication skills in a cross-functional, team environment.
    Able to work independently & prioritize time/resources/ goals.

    Challenges and formulates new processes and strategic thinking and leads the development of new core processes and products to enhance CoC business performance.

    Able to identify customer needs and builds relationships with key OE and Fleet customers.
    Influences and motivates others, provides direction, removes barriers, leads high impact teams.

    Education:
    B.S./B.A. degree in Engineering or a Business-related field required. Masters or MBA preferred.
