    Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
    CFS collaborates with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with groundbreaking new high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. Our mission is to deploy these power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible.

    To that end, CFS has assembled a team of leaders in tough tech, fusion science, and manufacturing with a track record of rapid execution.

    To implement this plan, we are looking to add dedicated people to the team who treat people well, improve our work by adding multifaceted perspectives and new ways of solving problems, have achieved outstanding results through a range of pursuits, and have skills and experience related to this role.

    CFS is looking for a People Operations Business Partner that will form close working relationships with key functions, support employees, and drive talent strategy.

    This individual will be working to support functions located our Devens, MA office location.


    This team member will:

    Develop a close working relationship and high level of trust with assigned organizationsAssist in the development and roll out of an organizational structure with associated job levels and titles that supports business objectivesWork with leaders to develop clear career paths for employeesWork with leaders to identify key skill gaps to fill through hiringCarry out succession planning and ensure robust pipelines for key rolesPartner with leaders on talent development and employee status changesHold talent reviews and help identify stretch and training assignments for promising employeesPartner with leaders on compensation decisions during offer, internal moves, and related to retentionApply practices around employee feedback and annual compensation reviewsAssist in the development and evolution of HR policies as the company grows and changesResolve employee relations cases as neededChampioning the CFS culture, values, and missionChampion diversityThe ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements: 5+ years of experienceFamiliarity with general policies regarding non-exempt employeesProven ability to help leaders meet business objectivesProven ability to coach leaders through company growth and changesProven success working with highly technical leaders, engineers, and scientistsImpeccable ethics and discretionStrong communication skillsAbility to comfortably navigate uncertainty and develop creative solutions to issuesAdditional experience and/or qualifications: Experience with in a face pace high growth start upAbility to perform activities such as sitting and typing for extending periods of timeWillingness to travel rarely when neededWork in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics#LI-HybridCFS team members thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have demonstrated exceptional results through a range of different pursuits.
