    Description
    This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt, 9-month, term faculty position. Salary is commensurate with educate and experience, ranging from $40,000- $45,000/year. This position is grant funded. The position is expected to last for the duration of the grant. This position begins in Fall 2024.

    Summary:

    The Alcohol & Drug Counseling Program Director/Assistant Professor will be responsible for, but not limited to, teaching and developing curriculum/course material for Alcohol & Drug Counseling program.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum of a Master's degree in counseling, or a related field, plus at least two years of professional experience in a mental health or alcohol & drug counseling setting.

    Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Blackboard and prior online teaching experience at a community college is strongly preferred. Qualifications as AADC or AADC-S desired.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Further develop the curriculum for the Alcohol & Drug Counseling program to provide students opportunities to work in the field of Alcohol & Drug Counseling.
    • Develop and maintain an active program advisory committee; provides
    documentation of meetings, i.e., attendance reports and minutes of each meeting.

    • Serve as primary contact for the program
    • Maintain relationships with the community relevant to the substance use disorder program
    • Pursue ongoing formal training designed to maintain and upgrade professional, instructional, and administrative capabilities
    • Stay up to date on industry standards, and apply this knowledge to the program.
    • Initiates purchase requisitions for supplies, materials, and equipment following College policies and procedures
    • Develop and maintain program data required for program reviews
    • Attend recruiting events and professional development workshops, participate in college committees, and other duties as needed.
    • In collaboration with HR and the Chair of the Division, recruit, orient, and supervise faculty members for the program.
    • Teach courses, as needed, as a part of in load, in addition to performing administrative duties, including teaching a variety of modalities
    • Other duties as assigned
