Position Summary: The Cart & Bag Room Attendant at Bellerive Country Club ("Bellerive") provides exceptional support to Members and guests by managing golf carts, bags, and range services. This role ensures a safe, organized, and welcoming environment while maintaining equipment and facilities in excellent condition.
Core Four Competencies:
- Consistently provides a welcoming, professional, and personalized experience for all Members and guests, ensuring their needs are anticipated and met with courtesy and attention to detail.
- Efficiently manages golf carts, bags, range equipment, and practice areas while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
- Works collaboratively with Team Members and leadership, communicates clearly and professionally, and demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and discretion in all interactions.
- Responds proactively to challenges and changing priorities, exercising sound judgement and critical thinking to resolve issues while maintaining high service standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet Members and guests warmly, providing excellent customer service.
- Stage golf carts daily; move from shelter to staging area, ensure they are clean, charged, and fully stocked as appropriate.
- Load and unload golf bags from storage and carts.
- Clean, maintain, and organize Members' and guests' golf clubs and rental equipment.
- Set up, maintain, and restock practice areas throughout the day.
- Collect, transport, and clean range balls; place baskets and operate range equipment as needed.
- Return golf carts to shelter after play; remove used items, check for damage, wash, charge, and secure carts.
- Prepare golf carts and practice areas for tournaments, corporate events, and group outings.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in Bag Storage Room, cart basement, and work areas.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in Team initiatives.
- Report lost-and-found items to the Pro Shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Outside Services Manager or other members of Bellerive's leadership team.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational, project management, and time management skills. High attention to detail is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, while exercising sound judgement and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with Members, guests, and Team Members at all levels. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Must be able to prepare clear written correspondence and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
- Ability to perform routine daily functions, resolve issues, and complete complex assignments utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the needs of the department.
- The physical demands of this position include the ability to remain mobile and/or stationary throughout the workday and to lift, carry, or transport up to fifty (50) pounds as needed to perform essential job functions.
Qualifications / Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- Prior experience in a golf club, country club, or similar hospitality setting preferred.
