Job DescriptionJob Description
Summary/Objective - The R&D technician is responsible for testing materials and products for the purpose of defining and meeting regulatory and quality standards as requested, including but not limit to in-house testing, 3rd party tests, sample trials, etc.
Essential FunctionsCollect and test product samples from various production stages as requested.
Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
Prepare test data for review and analysis using Microsoft Excel.
Assist in analyzing test data for quality trends and potential improvement areas.
Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers as requested.
Read data sheets, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
Maintaining a clean & hygienic working environment as required, such as lab, office, etc.
Notify supervisors or other personnel of any problems/potential hazards encountered.
Perform R&D based sample trials & tests and other related duties as requested, such as material preparation, mold change, sample collection, etc.
Other job duties as required.

Must have a good sense of confidentiality
Must have basic data analysis and critical thinking skills
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and with high efficiency
Must be competent with Microsoft Excel
Must be competent with laboratory testing equipment
Must be able to effectively communicate with every caliber of employee
Must be able to effectively communicate in English (oral, verbal, and read/write); Bi-lingual in Mandarin is beneficial but not required.
Must be a team playerMust be detail-oriented
Must be well-organized
Required Education and Experience
Degree or equivalent working experience required for this position.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but can be a point of contact if leadership is out of the office.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to food scents, some food allergens, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is required climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
