    Description

    Duties * Evaluate the effectiveness of established policies, the efficiency of operations, and identifies any other key contributing factors that serve to generate any problems or issues.

    * Develop detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs throughout the lifecycle of any programs or projects.

    * Provide technical assistance to address compliance requirements in design, acquisition, development, and maintenance life cycles and processes.

    * Keep up-to-date on all Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 related laws, regulations, policies, and standards applicable to the procurement, development, maintenance and use of information and communication technology (ICT).

    * Review and ensures all applications, electronic documents, publications and forms, internet/intranet web pages or sites, and other ICT products and services are compliant prior to release.

    * Develop and establish the Army Section 508 program, leads several subordinates in this effort, and manages the program on behalf of the Army Chief Information Office (CIO).

    * Ensures Section 508 accessibility considerations are incorporated into the planning, operation, and management of any electronic and information technology (EIT) that is developed, used, or maintained by the Army.

    * Liaise among stakeholders, system/program owners, and contracting officer's representatives to resolve issues and remove barrier that may prevent program success.

    Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

    * This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

    * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. * This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing. * One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

    Specialized Experience:

    One year of specialized experience which includes provide oversight or guidance for organizations Section 508 Compliance program to comply with laws/regulations such as Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C 794d) and Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (P.L ; develop agency policy or guidance related to Section 508 laws; and provide Section 508 guidance for the procurement, development or use of information and communication technology.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    Grade Requirement:

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
