    Job DescriptionThe position functions as a senior information technology analyst responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing a variety of automated data warehouse applications.

    This position will also represent the team and coordinate team activities with other data warehouse teams on complex, multi-team projects.

    In addition, the position will work with other data warehouse developers to review existing data warehouse policies and practices, modify them as needed, or propose new polices or practices.

    Knowledge of SQL, Business Intelligence tools, and experience with the relational database is required to help develop and maintain DHHS data warehouse ETL and queries.

    This position is part of Data Warehouse Team.

    Required Skills:
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical study6+ Years Creating Data Warehouse BI applications including ETL/data mart development, reporting, dashboards and other information analysis and delivery system

    A dditional Skills:
    Experience with the PMM/SUITE/Agile methodology.
    SQL Assistant/Teradata Studio ExperienceExperience in Data Replication using tools like Oracle Golden GateEnd user training experience.
    Must be able to work independently with little direction.

    Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector.

    Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan.

    Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, devise solutions and alternatives and make appropriate recommendations.

    Experience working with Data Modelers and developers, facilitating modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer.

    Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation, (to the source system) query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.

    With the Business Analyst, presents the information gathered to the Project Review Board and/or Project Sponsors during project review meetings, project workgroups and to the Technical Review Board providing clarification and answers to questions.

    Consult with agency clients to explain complex IT processes and solutions, developing and maintaining an effective communication plan with DTMB and agency clients relating to project level metrics, bureau level project reporting, etc.

    Assist Architect or DBA to draft technical database model that:
    Complies with audit separation of duty requirement.
    Captures requirements of data elementsDesigns data elements to best meet application needsReviews and approves updates to systems documentation.


    Top Skills & Years of Experience:6+ Years creating Data Warehouse BI applications including ETL/data mart development, reporting, dashboards and other information analysis and delivery system.

    Experience with the State of Michigan PMM/SUITE/Agile methodology.
    Experience troubleshooting on all ETL processes and effectively resolve any issues.
    SQL Assistant/Teradata Studio ExperienceExperience in Data Replication using tools like Oracle Golden GateEnd user training experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
