Description
ZO Motors is seeking a highly motivated Vehicle Integration and Mechanical Design expert to join us in the development and deployment of our zero-emission commercial vehicles with Li-ion battery and Hydrogen technologies for the global markets.
This individual will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external suppliers/vendors to manage our products 3D CAD, 2D drawings, and BOMs with clear configuration and version control.
This individual must be able to think strategically and work independently with all levels of leadership while exercising sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist.
This individual will be proficient at influencing cross-functionally and deliver strong results. Come to join our start-up culture, work fast and smart, while adapting and iterating fast.Job ResponsibilitiesIntegrate all 3D CAD from suppliers and internal teams, optimize the system layout, review and check drawings.
Mechanical design of structural parts using CAD (preferable CATIA) and other structure simulation tools.
Coordinating all hardware and software release activities with clear configuration management and version control for all our vehicle models in various global markets.
Create and maintain engineering BOM, manufacturing BOM, and service BOMs.Coordinate and chair change control activities, such as change requests, waiver, and deviation requests.
Implement PDM/PLM system, working with vendors / suppliers / upfitters to manage design data inflow and outflow.
Perform regular system maintenance including data cleanup, system updates, reports, and dashboard updates.
This position will directly report to the company CTO with extensive cross-functional coordination with engineering, marketing, homologation and regulations, supply chain management, manufacturing, and outside vendors.
Basic QualificationsBachelors degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.Experience in 3D CAD and 2D drawing creation and release.
Experience in vehicle design and development process.
Experience working with external suppliers and vendors.
Experience in engineering change management and configuration control.
Familiar with CATIA and PLM software.
Familiar with engineering BOM, manufacturing BOM, and service BOM.Detail oriented with excellent documentation skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in software release and version control.
Experience in implementing and configuring PDM/PLM, Change Management, and BOM management.
Experience in check technical drawings and tolerance stacks (GD&T)Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
