- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other hospital personnel, and promote collaboration among disciplines in coordinating patient care.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- If grandfathered in (employed before 2/7/2016), must be certified within one year of promotion, if eligibility requirements for certification are met.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Femtosecond Laser Certification preferred, if applicable. Associate's Degree or Higher OR Enrolled in an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree Program in a Healthcare Related Field.
