    Senior Tax Associate Position Summary:
    Seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join their Houston, TX office.

    Their associates have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in industries such as manufacturing, construction, dealership, real estate, wholesale and distribution, retail and more.

    They offer a diversified experience in public accounting, providing their employees with many opportunities to grow, develop and advance within their careers.

    This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity in Houston, TX.


    Position Responsibilities:
    Extensive experience in the home building, real estate and construction industryLead preparation of complex tax returns (individual, C-Corp, S-Corp, partnerships, trust, estate, etc.)

    Ability to identify and analyze tax issues and come to conclusionsPrepare quarterly and year-end estimates to assist clients with tax planningPerform diversified tax assignments under the direction of a supervisor, manager or partnerDemonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and firm standardsMeet time constraints and client deadlinesBuild strong client relationship and ensure client needs are being metPossess technical knowledge sufficient to assist staff associates and internsReview the work of less experienced associates and provide guidance/mentorship to assist them in developing technical skillsBegin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationship and loyaltyParticipate in firm training courses to further develop technical skillsProvide excellent client service by producing quality work, quick turnaround and attentive serviceBecome proficient at tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the firmMinimum Requirements:
    Masters degree in AccountingMeets all requirements to sit for CPA exam and actively pursuing same (CPA Preferred)

    Those possessing CPA certification will be given preferenceMinimum 3 years of public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of tax returnsExcellent analytical and soft skillsAbility to make and support decisions regarding accounting and tax mattersAbility to perform and direct multiple engagements with competing prioritiesExcellent communication and writing skillsAbility to mentor, lead, and trainExtensive knowledge of S-Corp and partnership returnsAbility to work independently, but also in a team environmentHighly motivated, self-starter with ability to multitaskAbout Spark Talent Acquisition:
