    Northrop Grumman's Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) Launch Vehicles Business Unit (LBVU) is seeking a Program Manager 2 to serve as the Aegis Weapons System (AWS) Program Manager for the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) Program under the Advance Programs Operating Unit
    This position will report directly to the GPI Program Manager

    A successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the programmatic and technical execution associated with the AWS, and its prime contractor Lockheed Martin.

    This Program Manager 2 role will require strong technical leadership, communication skills, influencing skills, and ability to build and develop strong partnerships with many organizations
    This position will be located in Chandler, AZ
    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following generalized areas of management;

    • Day to day management of the NG multi-discipline AWS team including coordination with the office of the Chief Engineering and Integrated Product Team(s)
    • Manage the customer interface and expectations with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and relationship with the Lockheed Martin team
    • Development of technical requirements and interface documents associated with the AWS
    • Negotiating interface agreements with the MDA and Lockheed
    • Internal cost, schedule and technical performance of the AWS integration team
    • Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) control methodologies and tools
    • Leading, managing, or participating in various periodic customer reviews such as Program Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, Design Reviews, Weekly Mgmt Status Meetings, Integrated Product Teams, etc.
    • Participating in monthly Internal Program Management Reviews, monthly Financial Forecast reviews, and quarterly EAC submittals (as required)
    • Integrated Master Schedule task and link development of AWS activities, including execution and monthly schedule updates and maintenance
    • Identifying AWS risks and developing/implementing mitigation and/or recovery plans
    • Preparation of charts and briefings on status/progress; delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholdersThe successful candidate will also be responsible for the following specialized areas of management;
    • Define/develop a strategy for working with Lockheed Martin on GPI AWS integration that supports GPI and NG strategic goals
    • Represent GPI at campaign meetings, leadership strategy meetings relevant to AWS integration, maintaining visibility to NG opportunities in work that may leverage partnership with Lockheed Martin
    • Develop and execute strategies for GPI customer engagements to ensure success of the program and progress towards NG strategic goals (may include engaging with FFRDCs to assist with technology exploration, partnerships, testing opportunities, etc.)
    • Represent GPI at major industry symposiums and conferences
    • Lead/direct systems analyst to develop requirements for integration with AWS
    • Work with LM to develop firing doctrine to optimize GPI performance and overall probability of engagement success
    • Define and execute integration and test plan through IOC - to validate GPI / AWS interfaces prior to sell-off and ship emplacementBasic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required with at least nine (9) years of related experience in program management, leadership, or related field OR Master's degree with at least seven (7) years of experience

    • History of Successful Project Management of multi-discipline technical teams (i.e
    mechanical, electrical, software, etc.) building products to meet technical requirements

    • General aerospace and launch vehicle knowledge
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
    • Be able to travel up to 15% of the time, including foreign destinations
    • Be able to work on site in a classified closed area
    • Active Secret US security clearance Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance (w/ Poly)
    • Familiarity with launch vehicles as well as missile subsystems including but not limited to:
    • Avionics
    • Telemetry Systems
    • Solid rocket motors
    • Control systems (Thrust Vector Control, Cold Gas Attitude Control, Air Vanes)
    • Separation Systems (Shrouds, Fairings, Stages, and ejection systems)
    • Structures and Aerodynamics

    Salary Range:
    $131,200 - $196,800 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions
    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
    Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results
    Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives
