- Serve as a scrum team's technical leader; driving the quality, scalability, reliability, and speed to market of Forward's third-party integration infrastructure
- Improve the quality of software applications through technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship
- Lead cross-team planning activities for complex features spanning multiple scrum teams
- Champion technical excellence within the engineering organization.
- Maintain a high level of engagement across multiple scrum teams, promptly address bugs and incidents, and consistently be accessible during core hours
- Improve the efficiency of engineers through technical guidance and mentorship
- Act as SME on Forward's software ecosystem
- Significant experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship
- Significant expertise in designing and implementing complex systems across multiple software applications and/or languages (typically Golang, Python, Java, etc)
- Exhibit maturity and ownership in all aspects of work
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Significant ability to influence others
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated passion for learning and self-development within the software industry
- Typically has several years of experience in agile software development, including expertise in a modern programming language (Golang, Python, Java, Typescript)
- Typically has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or additional relevant experience

Our Engineering team serves as a key driver of innovation at Forward Financing. We build the software that powers a FinTech product that serves Small Businesses across the country. A key part of our strategy involves leveraging data from dozens of third-party vendors to power our AI/ML initiatives and our analytical capabilities. We're looking for a seasoned Principal Engineer to guide our third-party data strategy. As a technical leader, you'll play a crucial part in our growth in this pillar.
