    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The DevOps Engineer is an essential member of the tech team, assisting in the upkeep and improvement of the company's infrastructure.

    This role will support senior infrastructure architects in managing container orchestration systems, understanding application codebases, and maintaining service uptime. The role is ideal for an individual keen on growing their skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    Requirements


    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    The ideal candidate will be proactive, eager to learn, and possess a foundational understanding of container orchestration and system interactions.

    They will display a commitment to collaborating with the team and demonstrate a consistent drive to enhance system performance and reliability.


    PREFERRED TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY:


    • Docker
    • Docker
    Swarm and/or Kubernetes


    • Linux
    • GitLab & CI/CD Automation
    • Comfort with Linux Command Line Interface (CLI) & Bash Scripting
    • AWS - EC2, S3, WAF, Lambda, Cloudwatch
    • Grafana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:


    • 3+ years of experience in a technical role with exposure to container orchestration or system management.
    • Basic understanding of application interactions and system integrations.
    • Experience with maintaining operational uptime and addressing system incidents.
    • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD concepts and workflows.
    • Experience in monitoring system health and recognizing potential issues.
    • Foundational knowledge of MariaDB or similar databases.
    • 1+ years of experience with web technologies (Python, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
    • Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, CodeIgniter, Angular).

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


    • Assist in managing container orchestration platforms.
    • Monitor system health and flag potential issues.
    • Develop an understanding of application architectures under guidance.
    • Support initiatives for automated deployments and system updates.
    • Help maintain system uptime and performance.
    • Assist in MariaDB administration tasks.
    • Collaborate with technical teams for system improvements.
    • Contribute to team meetings and knowledge sharing sessions.
    • Support senior engineers in architecture design efforts.
    • Maintain adherence to quality standards and best practices.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Currently Clearwater is "virtual" company and all colleagues work remotely.


    • Work remotely and provide own printer/scanner, computer audio capability, cell phone, Internet service.
    • Company provides subscriptions to , Microsoft, On-Line Services, Encryption tools, Data backup, and other tools selected as standard by the Company
