    Description

    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer – Software Integration or a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer – Software Integration within the Mission Systems IPT to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

    The position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA with up to 25% CONUS travel.

    Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    • Integrate and test software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.
    • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment.
    • Use application of extensive technical expertise to support a developing system.

    This position may be filled at either the Principal Electronics Engineer – Software Integration or Senior Principal Electronics Engineer – Software Integration level depending upon the qualifications below.

    Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer - Software Integration:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
    • Demonstrated experience with VmWare
    • Security+ Certificate for administrators
    • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with an initial investigation or re-investigation within the last 6 years OR be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation (CE).
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
    • Ability to travel up to 25%

    Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Electronics Engineer - Software Integration:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field with 9 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field with 7 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 4 years of related experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
    • Demonstrated experience with VmWare
    • Security+ Certificate for administrators
    • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with an initial investigation or re-investigation within the last 6 years OR be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation (CE).
    • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

    Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

    • Current Special Program Access
    • Mission Planning experience
    • Previous experience with existing system
    • Ability to maintain system configurations
    • Provide expert software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users.
    • Train end-users.
    • Support the IPT with software defect resolution and enhancement efforts.
    • Ability to develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell scripts, Bash and Python scripts, and Microsoft Group Policies
    • Familiarity with storage systems and basic networking, Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Vmware, and vCenter
    • Ability to do the following:
    • Author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update procedures
    • Document and maintain system configurations
    • Provide engineering technical support for peer teams
    • Engineer and Test new technical solutions in lab environments
    • Design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructures
    • Maintain COTS Hardware and Software configuration matrix
    • Script deployments of Microsoft Windows Server and Workstation and Solaris 10 and 11 operating systems
    • Automate installation of COTS software
    • Engineer solutions to address new technical requirements and/or bug fixes
    • Implement engineering changes to the system as required
    • Maintain compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancements
    • Release CM controlled documentation, scripts, and COTS software media
