Job summary
The Dispatcher schedules drivers assigns routes and resources such as vehicles and equipment to efficiently manage traffic in operations.
This position is responsible for internal and external customer communications TMW entry and audit functions.- Schedules drivers for pick-up delivery selects most efficient routes for each driver Anticipates weather complications along routes at the drivers destinations communicates delays route changes as necessary.
- Monitors drivers working hours to ensure compliance with federal state laws regulations Maintains phone contact with drivers customers Answer the phone in a professional manner Communicates to drivers load estimated time of completion Correctly accurately timely enters load information into transportation management software TMW sends trips to drivers over Peoplenet when applicable Ensures customer destination assignments are met communicates variance Create correctly communicate daily reports at shift change management Audits prior day loads compares to load assignments communicates deviations internally externally Ensures drives follow load assignments local destinations Repairs error listing in TMW billing payroll communicates corrections respective departments Reports producer customer inquiries promptly management Other related duties assigned
