    Summary
    American Fan has an opportunity for an Application Engineer based out our Fairfield, OH location.


    This position supports the external and intercompany customer needs in the market by supporting independent sales representatives, regional sales managers, key accounts, and end customers.

    Key tasks included reviewing customer requests, aligning American Fan resources, products, and services to meet specifications and generate proposals.

    This position serves as an integral link between the sales group, design engineering, manufacturing, and the customer to ensure proposals are market sensitive to pricing and performance.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    Review and analyze customer requirements for application of products and recommend a suitable product selection with due regard for internal engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

    Acts as liaison between engineering and sales representatives regarding specific product applications, product design improvements and possible product development ideas and concepts including field complaints.

    During proposal generation, serves as a liaison between customer needs and other departments concerning all aspects of customer orders such as inspections, deliveries, scheduling, spare parts list, etc.

    to ensure proposal account for all aspects of internal costs and resource needs.

    Provides technical assistance, information, support and guidance to customers and sales representatives to maximize sales volume and earnings, market penetration of products and effective relationships with customers.

    Develops specifications utilizing American Fan equipment.
    Provides input for proposal, data packages, and product and parts pricing proposals. May be asked to review orders written by sales representatives for correct pricing and product selections.
    Estimates cost of recommended equipment selections.

    Ensures that orders are consistent with quotes and review for accuracy and edit for correct spare parts and data listed.

    Prepares formal quotations that include data sheets, price calculations for customer products, etc. in accordance with specifications.

    Coordinates with relevant personnel to determine what in-plant equipment testing is required to meet customer specifications, if any, or as required.

    Maintain the required level of proficiency in application engineering skills,

    Partners with all central functions such as Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, and HR to ensure that enabling strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics.

    Engages with all businesses and functions to promote and sustain a continuous improvement culture within the organization.
    Represents the Company with customers and business partners on and offsite

    Engage in continuous improvement for processes included in and adjacent to job role.
    Recognize and resolve customer satisfaction issues (both internal and external).
    Prepare all required documents for review meetings in accordance with, and in support of, ERP (D365) and CRM (Infor).
    Identify and propose new market opportunities while increasing existing opportunities. Provide input regarding competitive products, trends & activities, and regarding customer needs.
    Recommend product developments based on market/customer needs
    Responsible for receiving, entering, maintaining, and reporting on orders entered into the CRM system.

    Qualifications and Educational Requirements
    .
    Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or related field.
    A minimum of 2 years application

    s experience including selection and costing, preferably in the fan, rotating equipment or related technical industry.
    Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    High moral and ethical standards, demonstrating respect for the individual and team, and setting an example for compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate requirements.

    Strong work ethic and the ability to set and achieve goals.
    Proven ability to quickly assess complex issues and identify root causes/key success factors.

    Decision-making skills including knowledge of varying decision-making styles and appropriateness of each balanced with the necessity to escalate to proper channels.

    The ability to interact with diverse cultures and demonstrate effective communication skills with associates, suppliers and customers in a variety of business functions.

    Effective in a variety of formal and informal presentation settings; one-on-one, small and large groups, inside and outside the organization.

    Computer literate in Microsoft Office Software including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    Experience in air and gas handling and movement industry.
    Experience working in a matrix organization where influence, indirect leadership and compelling ideas are used to accomplish organizational objectives.
    Experience working through a sales representative network.
    Experience working with ERP, CRM and other technology tools.
