- Design a K-12 library curriculum to support essential literacy standards
- Co-plan and co-facilitate 6-12 classroom lessons around literacy and research; allow learners opportunities to share products and reflect on the learning process; assist with assessing learning experiences
- Train K-5 library technicians to teach structured literacy lessons
- Must meet State of Michigan definition of highly qualified
- Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with ND (Library Media) endorsement

- Participate in district initiatives (strategic planning, technology committees, accreditation activities, etc.)
- Attend conferences and join professional organizations
- Facilitate professional development for library techs
- Provide educators and other staff learning opportunities related to:
- New technologies
- The ethical use of information
- Copyright, Creative Commons, and Fair Use
- Open Education Resources
- Licensing of intellectual property
- Privacy concerns related to use of digital resources and the internet, and ethical online behavior
- Maintain district libraries; ensure a welcoming environment
- Provide active communication and promotion of school library activities and resources to increase use across K-12 buildings
- Create building-wide or district-wide programs that enhance community and to grow literacy
- Engage staff and learners in local and community library-related initiatives
- Budget oversight in alignment with building/district goals for access and equity
- Create and implement processes for the following:
- Library collection curation
- Purchasing decisions
- School/district-wide programs
- Instructional programs
- Fine collection/redistribution of funds that do not create barriers to materials
- Ensure circulation of collection; create process to enhance usage of materials
- Maintain a diverse collection of digital and print materials that reflect the students and their individual interests/needs
- Ensure equitable access and ADA compliance
- Work with teachers to identify materials that support instructional content
- Work with teachers to identify materials that support instructional content
- Work with technology to create processes for digital literacy and technology integration
- Support technology with chromebook maintenance
- Support curriculum/instructional coaches with digital tools for instruction
- Support the integration of STEAM activities into the K-5 curriculum
