    Summary: The Event Technology Operations Manager will assist and advise assigned event technicians in their day-to-day operations, ensuring that all levels of service and standards of operations are met. The Operations Manager provides direct supervision of team members including scheduling and time keeping. This role will require extensive audio-visual knowledge and event planning experience to execute successful events. This position reports to the Director of Event Technology.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Communicate the requirements to the Event Technology staff regularly.
    • Work together with event technicians and other teams, to ensure seamless execution of Event Technology
    • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings as necessary to support the Director and Sales Manager.
    • Manage work requests and calendar of events to ensure that all needs are adequately addressed in a timely manner.
    • Monitor training of all event technicians
    • Respond to all inquiries for service needs in a timely manner, ensuring exceptional guest service, exceeding expectations.
    • Follow-up on all calls and emails in a timely manner.
    • Act as an extension of the sales team to upsell and provide superior solutions.
    • Ensures that billing is reviewed and approved by clients, and advises the Director and/or Sales Manager of any potential challenges.
    • Make immediate decisions to provide the guest with a solution without any downtime in meetings.
    • Assist in the development of the Event Technology
    • Recruit and manage a team of qualified Event Technology
    • Provide expertise and work with cutting-edge Event Technology conferencing equipment.
    • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events.
    • Provide training and associated materials to users relating to effective use of the Event technologies.
    • Monitor usage and capacity for the conference equipment infrastructure, in coordination with the IT department.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of related equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance activities.
    • Provide status updates, as outlined by the Director, on a daily basis.
    • Inventory control - ensuring all equipment is in working order and cosmetically acceptable to be client facing.
    • Identify continuous improvement processes for seamless guest service across lines of business.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and enhance Event Technology conferencing services to internal and external guests.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g., Audio-Visual, Technology, Multimedia, Communications) preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art Event Technology to support large scale events; such as understanding components and signal flow, knowledge of industry terminology and hotel systems, understanding of integrating house video and audio systems with additional technology as required by event.
    • Experience in coordinating and executing high-value productions and working around venue limitations.
    • Ability to talk and walk through the coordination of large-scale productions.
    • Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual systems, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video equipment.
    • Proficiency in using Event Technology software and applications for presentations, recordings, and streaming.
    • Exceptional organizational and multitasking.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with guests, employees, and other stakeholders.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
    • Guest focused mindset with a commitment to delivering first-class experiences.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
    • Professional image is required.
    • Must carry themselves professionally and provide exceptional Guest Service at all times.

    • Ability to read and interpret room diagrams and CAD designs.

    Work Conditions:

    • In person, onsite at the venue.
    • Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
    • Will overlap hours with Director of Event Technology to ensure manager coverage at all times when any events are occurring.
    • Occasional outdoor site visits for events occurring outdoors.
