- Conduct Field Safety Audits: Regularly inspect construction sites to evaluate compliance with safety standards, including OSHA, company policies, and other relevant regulations.
- Identify Hazards and Risks: Document potential safety hazards and collaborate with site managers to address concerns.
- Develop and Implement Safety Protocols: Provide input on site-specific procedures, emergency response plans, and hazard control methods.
- Report and Document Findings: Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing safety violations, potential hazards, corrective actions, and recommendations.
- Conduct Safety Training: Facilitate training sessions to ensure personnel understand safe working practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Attend workshops, seminars, and courses to maintain knowledge of field safety standards.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Site Teams: Work closely with site supervisors and project managers to foster a proactive approach to safety.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a construction safety role or similar field; experience as a field safety auditor is required.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour or OSHA 510 certification required; CSP, CHST, or ASP certifications are a plus.
- Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or Construction Management is preferred.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry and construction standards.
- Skills: Excellent observation, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in report writing and basic computer applications.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate large construction sites and work in various weather conditions.
- 80-90% of time in Western USA.
- Starting Salary $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.
