Job description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. This contract position requires a detail-oriented individual to support financial operations and ensure accuracy in accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable processes, including reviewing and coding invoices for timely payments.
- Handle accounts receivable tasks, ensuring accurate tracking and collection of payments.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Utilize QuickBooks to record transactions, generate reports, and maintain organized financial records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor and track expenses to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
- Address and resolve any accounting-related inquiries or issues promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information at all times.
- Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Strong ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations.
- Knowledge of invoice coding and general bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and external parties.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations.
