- Direct and manage contracts which support the ESH organization, including hazardous waste management and disposal, environmental assessments, permitting, and emergency response activities.
- Ensure compliance to US EPA TSCA 5(e) regulations for the commercialization of new chemicals.
- Manage safety testing of new chemicals through international regulatory processes.
- Manage sites safety committee and its safety-related approvals, investigations, and initiatives.
- Promote ESH culture by driving various ESH performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement activities.
- Build effective relationships and trust with key stakeholders and business partners to drive program enhancements and support the development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
- Manage the sites ESH management system elements and support development and reporting of metrics and performance data.
- Assure compliance with applicable ESH regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate implementation of MFC and Corporate ESH assessment and recordkeeping programs.
- Support emergency and response operations through assistance and oversight to staff during response activities, driving post-incident investigation and corrective action activities, and as a member of the Emergency Operations Command team.
- Support management of the ESH organizations expense and capital budgets.
- Coordinate with other MFC locations and represent the facility in working groups or new initiatives.
- Work independently and as part of a functional team to resolve issues.
- Support review of existing process and facilities to identify EHS issues.
- Experience reporting to and interfacing with Massachusetts and Federal environmental and safety regulatory agencies.
- Previously demonstrated leadership experience of a small group or team.
- Previous experience planning and allocating tasks and workload across a team.
- Ability to make difficult decisions, solve complex issues and influence ESH cultural improvement.
- Ability to respond to internal and external issues to maintain regulatory compliance and enhance the employee experience.
- Experience in change management and planning activities as they relate to ESH integration and considerations.
- Application of continuous improvement tools and techniques knowledge including thorough root cause analysis and mistake-proofing processes.
