- Prescription Management: You will prepare and dispense medications as prescribed by Veterinarians, explaining instructions and side effects to clients, and handling refill requests via phone and internet.
- Controlled Substance Compliance: You will properly document controlled drugs, perform weekly audits, create logs for surgery/lab use, and assist with reconciling any discrepancies.
- Inventory Control: You will perform weekly inventory of all medications and supplies, place orders, verify receipts, enter data into the Cornerstone inventory module, and manage expirations.
- Pharmacy Operations: You will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area and equipment (pill counters, safe, refrigerator) and restock supplies as needed.
- Client Experience: You will facilitate a smooth client experience by filling requests promptly, answering questions regarding medications and special orders, and contacting clients when items arrive.
- Team Support: You will assist veterinarians with requests, help technicians with client callbacks, and support the reception team when necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1+ years of prior Veterinary industry experience is required.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills with a positive, caring, and compassionate nature.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 2-20 lbs unassisted. Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, walking, and reaching.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to pets, anesthesia, biological hazards, and noise.
