Description
We are working with a leading construction company and are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's finance team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of the construction projects across various regions in the US.
This position involves close collaboration with project engineers, supervision of accounting staff, and managing key financial processes such as Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects, collaborating closely with project engineers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Monitor project budgets, expenses, and revenue recognition to ensure alignment with company goals and industry standards.
Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
Maintain and update WIP schedules for ongoing construction projects, ensuring accurate reflection of project costs and revenues.
Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for WIP reporting.
Manage the revenue recognition process for construction projects, adhering to accounting principles and industry standards.
Analyze and interpret project contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition methods.
Prepare and review financial statements related to construction projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process for project financials.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
