Job description
Our client is seeking a Junior Counsel to join its Legal and Compliance team in New York City.This role is ideal for an ambitious attorney with three to five years of relevant experience who is looking to gain broad exposure across legal, regulatory, and compliance matters within a financial services environment.
The position offers hands-on responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to support a growing platform through a wide range of legal initiatives.
Job FunctionReview, revise, and approve marketing materials to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
Support vendor oversight by reviewing requests, providing recommendations, and suggesting process improvements.
Assist with the negotiation, review, and tracking of non-disclosure agreements.
Help prepare, execute, and maintain corporate formation documents and organizational records.
Contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the compliance program, including policies and procedures.
Assist with monitoring and enforcing the Code of Ethics, addressing potential non-compliance issues.
Job Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
Licensed to practice law and a member in good standing with the applicable bar.
Background working with a financial services firm (preferred).
Familiarity with the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act, and Investment Company Act (preferred).
Experience working with an SEC-registered investment adviser or private fund (e.g., hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, or private credit) is preferred but not required.
Compliance experience is preferred but not required.Disclosure:
