    Description


    •Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures,demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patientpositioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media,application of immobilization, and radiation protection devicesaccording to department policy and procedure.

    •Demonstrates proper hand scrubbing techniques.

    •Demonstrates proper gloving and gowning skills.

    •Demonstrates proper sterile table set up and maintenance.

    • Demonstrates proper sterile prep of procedural /surgicalsites.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiacanatomy.

    • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac pressurerecording and normal values.

    • Knowledge of propercatheter selection for procedures.

    • Demonstratesknowledge of emergency procedures and skills.

    •Consults with cardiologist/radiologist as necessary.

    •Checks consultation requests for special instructions

    •Develops film in accordance with approved techniques, maintainslevels in processor and replenishment tanks.

    • Performsvisual preventative safety inspections, completes tube warm-upprocedures for assigned radiographic room/ equipment. Prepares,cleans, and disinfects equipment and materials. Reports dangerousconditions.

    • Maintains necessary inventory suppliesfor assigned room, restocks rooms as needed.

    •Pleasantly greets patients, introduces self, and confirms patientidentity. Explains examination procedure to the patient and, ifpresent, the family.

    • Takes mobile x-ray equipment tothe patient's room, emergency room, operating rooms and other areasas needed. Transports patients asnecessary.
