Greets patients and visitors responds to routine requests for information answers telephone screens calls takes messages registers patients obtains demographic insurance information verifies insurance coverage collects co pays deductibles previous balances posts payments updates demographic insurance information schedules patient appointments coordinates cancellations reschedules additions schedules provides accurate detailed information regarding test preparations time patient arrive directional information needed by patient ensures insurance patient obtained complete accurate applying acquired knowledge government third party payer requirements identifies reports resolves problems registration appropriate individuals departments monitors patient flow ensure cared efficient courteous manner offers various assistance include arranging transportation needs providing directions locating wheelchair etc performs visit closure checking out patients after visit scheduling follow up appointments providing patients with visit summary may file retrieve deliver patient info records completes required forms documentation.
