    Registered Nurse Qualifications

    Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state

    At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, or acute care nursing

    BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)

    Strong clinical assessment, cardiac monitoring, and critical thinking skills

    Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities

    Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

    Deliver direct patient care in the cardiac stepdown unit, monitoring cardiac status and responding to changes in patient condition

    Administer medications, manage cardiac drips, and perform continuous cardiac monitoring

    Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans

    Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, procedures, and recovery processes

    Accurately document patient care and interventions in the electronic medical record (EMR)

    Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
