- Leading, prioritising and managing all hardware related inquiries for the Autonomous Solutions group.
- Reviewing and approving electrical and mechanical drawings, removing roadblocks for designers and drafters.
- Maintaining and updating bill of materials and other relevant technical documentation.
- Improving existing designs based on data and customer feedback.
- Leading the execution of various electrical tests and analysis related to power, EMI, and EMC.
- Leading the execution of various mechanical tests and analysis related to FEA.
- Creating design standards and procedures for Autonomous Solutions group.
- Researching, selecting, and developing new pieces of hardware for electrical subsystems.
- Interfacing with a global team of engineers and product support resources to successfully complete tasks.
- Planning and coordinating hardware obsolescence Phase In / Phase Out.
- Driving hardware engineering design reviews.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Experience reviewing and approving electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Experience utilising tools and software packages to conduct tests on assemblies.
- Experience with industrial and mobile equipment automation.
- Experience with hardware such as GPS, Lidar, PLCs, PCs, and low voltage power systems.

Have you designed autonomous solutions for mobile equipment in the mining industry?
We are working with a global, $multimillion client who are technology innovators, custom manufacturers, and electrical systems trouble-shooters for heavy industry. They design, engineer, produce, and service industrial power systems and control systems, specialising in electric rotating machinery for high-demand applications across mining, mills, and heavy industry. Due to growth, they are looking for a Hardware Design Lead for their Evansville team.
This Lead Electrical Engineer role will report to the Autonomous Controls and Hardware Manager and manage a small team of engineers. They will lead and coordinate all hardware related initiatives including but not limited to reviewing/approving electrical and mechanical drawings, conducting electrical and mechanical analysis, specifying new devices and maintaining bill of materials for Autonomous Solutions new and existing products.
