    Job Summary: The Truck Wash Technician position supports the shop operations by performing routine wash outs on all company owned vehicles and equipment. This includes class 7 and class 8 trucks, trailers, flatbeds, yard dogs and including but not limited to employee vehicles as specified. These duties are consistently performed in adherence to company compliance, policies, procedures, values, and behavioral expectations.

    Essential Duties:

    • Determines vehicle condition by conducting walk around inspection; identifies severity of wash needed.
    • Drives company owned vehicles on company premises and fuel island for refueling.
    • Maintains paper records using company sanctioned maintenance paper copy receipts for all vehicles.
    • Performs complete inside and outside wash outs of refrigerated and dry van trailers.
    • Washes may include removal of trash and pallets inside of trailer.
    • Washes will include the use of soaps and chemicals that may contain bleach, detergents, ammonia, and sulfates that may cause allergic reactions to certain people.
    • Complies with OSHA regulations and shop health safety standards by wearing prescribed PPE's (personal protective equipment).
    • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, management directives and performance objectives.
    • Maintains the wash bay area in a safe and clean work environment to optimize effective job performance and customer service.
    • Enhances operations and the company's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests as well as exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Keeps wash bay equipment operating by following correct operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns of pressure washer system; maintaining inventory of soap and chemical supplies; performing preventive maintenance on equipment; calling for repairs or notifying management when repairs are necessary.
    • If time presents itself with no units to wash, candidate will be expected to help with regular shop cleaning maintenance, including trash removal and grounds cleaning.
    • Maintain a clean work environment each day and cleans station before conclusion of the workday.
    • Maintains a professional and collaborative relationship with all customers, team members and management.
    • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
    Skills/Experience Requirements:
    • 1 years minimum work-related experience with truck/trailer wash outs is preferred but not required.
    • Strong drive to work and takes pride in cleaning company vehicles.
    • Ability to work in a positive, fast paced, and high energy environment.
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive attitude; always demonstrates effective team behaviors that strengthens the shop and builds positive, professional relationships.
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Customer service and strong organizational skills.
    • Very Basic proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to stand for majority of the day, walk, and sit. This position frequently requires the use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. This position will be exposed to the elements, not limited to cold, wet, heat and various smells. The team member is required to have the ability to climb ladders to ascend to trailer height no more than 15 feet. The team member must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items 75lbs.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This position is primarily scheduled Monday-Friday, 1st shift with occasional need to work some afterhours shifts or during the weekend when required.

    Education/Training/Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • DOT inspector qualifications preferred
    • Valid Driver's License required, CDL preferred
    Introductory Period:

    Progress reports at 30 and 60 days with a review by management at 90 days.
