    Summary:
    Fabrication Discipline Estimator will lead fabrication estimation inputs for assigned bids. 1973 price book pricing methods is required for this position.


    Responsibilities:

    Leads Fabrication estimation inputs for assigned bids.
    Ensures review of specifications; build sequences and complexity to develop the fabrication man-hours estimate.
    Prepares AFC fabrication estimates in accordance with the Level 2 procedures.
    Identifies changes to AFC scope from bid assumptions and recommends rate revisions.
    Maintains historical records of Fabrication man-hours.
    Reviews, queries, and understands the ITT scope of work, specifications and standards and raise clarifications.
    Reviews, queries, and understands contract price form, clarifies unit rate and lump sum breakdown.
    Understands the fabrication/erection sequences and applies the same for estimation.
    Ensure estimates are in line with ITT specifications, e.g., weld methodology, inspection requirements, etc.
    Understands and application of the sub-function numbers and unit rates.
    Prepares bid inquiries for sub-contracted scope.
    Coordinates bid inputs from Design, Construction and Production Engineers, QA/QC, Dimensional Control group, Shops and Erection areas, and Superintendents.
    Coordinates bid inputs from respective disciplines to compile the overall estimates.
    Prepares fabrication (including) man-hour estimates, by sub-function, from SBUMS, productivity factor history or from first principles. Understanding the Global Fabrication Man Hour Rates and preambles.
    Reviews the estimate for consistency.

    Prepare Basis of Estimate and fabrication EBS, benchmarks, unit rates and other comparisons, explanations for man hour rate variations and optimizations.

    Attends fabrication estimates reviews with Management.
    Maintains discipline bid files.
    Contributes to Lessons Learned database to improve the quality of deliverables.

    Ensures that all works are carried out and necessary checks are maintained as per Level 2 procedure and work instructions issued by Estimating Manager.

    Prepare fabrication cost adders.


    Education and Experience:
    Diploma in Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineering, Design, or Drafting.
    5+ years in Engineering or Construction.
    Expertise in MS Office Excel Systems.
    Must have cost estimating experience and be familiar with materials, specifications, and fabrication methods.
    Previous fabrication experience and ability to read engineering drawings.


    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.

    Sedentary work:
    Exerting up to 10 lbs.
