    Job DescriptionDo you have quality automotive technical skills and a knack for taking a diagnostic approach to problem-solving? We seek a mechanically minded individual looking for an opportunity to join an efficient auto service center team Our successful automotive technician candidate understands vehicle electrical and computer systems and is able to properly diagnose and fix repairs. If you believe you are the candidate we need, apply todayCompensation:

    $20 - $40 hourly

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform routine maintenance, as needed, like checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and oil changes
    • Clearly articulate automotive repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and auto mechanics
    • Use diagnostic equipment, technical expertise, and the vehicle's integrated diagnostic systems to identify and determine the cause of malfunction codes
    • Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle system repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business
    • Follow a checklist-based approach to comprehensively examine all vehicle systems, such as the engine, transmission, air conditioning, and brake systems
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED is required
    • Stellar customer service and communications skills are mandatory
    • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal
    • Automotive Service Excellence /ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers /SAE certification is preferred
    About Company

    Who is Grote Automotive? Fred Grote has been in the car business for over 25 years. He opened his 1st store in Fort Wayne, IN in 2008. Growing from 25 cars a month to 200 he opened a 2nd store in Warsaw, IN. After Great success there his 3rd store came to Rockford, IL. The 4th and 5th stores have just arrived in IN in 2022 as well. We plan to open 1 more in 2024. We opened here in Rockford in December 2020 and have been growing FAST. We specialize in solving transportation problems that most dealerships can't.
