This position requires prior experience handling steel commodities such as pipe tubing coils and flats supports inventory control and documentation in vessel terminal and warehouse environments.
Candidate Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping receiving warehouse yard or stevedoring operations Prior experience handling steel cargo is required Strong attention to detail ability to follow instructions accurately Commitment to safety quality in all tasks Proven dependability ability to work independently Strong math skills for accurate counting tallying Ability to read write English bilingual EnglishSpanish a plus Willingness to work extended hours weekends holidays as needed Physical Requirements Working Conditions Work primarily outdoors with exposure weather conditions including heat rain cold Occasional work enclosed spaces warehouses vessel hatches Frequent walking bending stooping climbing ladders up ft Must be able react quickly physical hazards e.g jump move Ability work noisy environments maintain situational awareness Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Count inspect sort record cargo during discharge vessels trucks railcars Count inspect sort record cargo during stowage vessels trailers warehouse locations Receive ship cargo via trucks railcars Sort steel cargo purchase order reference number identifiers Mark cargo record dimensions documentation handling purposes Maintain written tallies records cargo movement storage Use electronic equipment e.g tablets scanners record data update systems Assist loading unloading operations terminal warehouse settings Ensure properly identified stored designated locations Perform other clerical operational duties assigned
