    SUMMARY
    The Assistant Controller works under the supervision of the Controller, as a member of the administrative team. The administrative team provides services and completes projects and duties that ensure effective and efficient administrative systems.

    Characteristics of effective and efficient administrative systems include but are not limited to providing excellent and timely services, following accounting and human resources best practices and controls, and implementing innovative systems to provide better administrative services.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    We are seeking an Assistant Controller who embodies the principles of servant leadership to join our accounting team.

    The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in supporting the Controller in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

    This role requires someone with strong financial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for serving both internal and external stakeholders.

    The Assistant Controllers duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    Provides support to the Controller on high-level accounting functions
    Acts as a lead and support person for the accounting team members to perform the day-to-day processing of financial transactions
    Performs journal entries and intercompany entries to ensure that finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner
    Manages and reviews banking and general ledger account reconciliations
    Manages and reviews accounts payable administration
    Performs accurate month-end closings and produces supporting financial reports including but not limited to Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements
    Analyzes accounting data and financial statements for discrepancies and reports to management
    Responsible for supporting year-end reporting with external tax professionals
    Responsible for supporting timely tax filings with external tax professionals
    Supports internal audits of accounting controls and best practices
    Prepares documentation and data for external auditors
    Prepares and executes scheduled and unscheduled payroll runs and associated reporting
    Prioritizes and coordinates work activities to complete various accounting projects

    Fosters a culture of continuous learning and development within the accounting team, providing mentorship and guidance to promote professional growth.

    Communicates financial and operational irregularities to management as soon as possible
    Expresses ideas clearly in written and oral communication with team members to complete various duties and responsibilities
    Uses and adapts computer programs to provide financial reporting and to implement accounting controls
    Seeks growth in expanding knowledge and skills through training and/or education
    Presents self in a clean, neat, professional manner
    Performs other ad-hoc related projects and tasks


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
    5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5+ years in a supervisory capacity.
    Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
    Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills preferred.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and building relationships.
    Proven track record of servant leadership, with a commitment to supporting and empowering team members.
    Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    Ability to communicate excellently verbally and in written form
    Ability to organize excellently managing various accounting and other administrative system files
    Ability to perform advanced math skills including, but not limited to addition, subtraction multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
