    Description

    SMV Recruiting is partnering with a great client in Syracuse who is looking for a Human Resources Manager.This role would be responsible for seeing the HR functions for a 70 person team and esentially set up their HR department from scratch.Our client offers a great company culture and outstanding benefits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Help develop a strong HR Department by creating policies, procedures, and documentation
    • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies
    • Manage and resolve employee relations issues and conducts investigations
    • Maintain knowledge of ethics, code of conduct and legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees
    • Provide coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions as needed
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
    • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and individuals
    • Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process
    • Maintain/update company handbook
    • Oversee manage paperwork and assist management as needed

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in HR or a related field strongly preferred
    • Previous expereince setting up an HR department from scratch highly desired
    • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in HR
    • Expereince working for a small-midsize family own company with 100+ employees strongly preferred
    • Experience in handling HR for a franchise, manufacturing or auto industry is strongly desired
    • SPHR or PHR certification preferred
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
    • Develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results
    • Manage multiple human resources disciplines in multiple locations
    • Take initiative to identify and anticipate company needs and make recommendations for implementation
