    Circuit Design Engineer - Library at Apple



    Do you have a strong passion for creating innovative solutions? As a part of our Digital Design Engineering team at Apple, you'll be tasked with bringing groundbreaking ideas to life. Collaborating with a team of skilled engineers, you will utilize your expertise to bring cutting-edge ideas to reality.

    Join us in designing tools that will revolutionize customer experiences. We are currently seeking talented Standard Cell Designers who are ready to make a significant impact.

    In this key role, you will be involved in a processor design project, working closely with the custom digital circuits team and library development to ensure timely product delivery.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to library architecture discussions and optimization to enhance overall Library PPA.
    • Lead layout optimization efforts by identifying and minimizing parasitics to enhance circuit PPA.
    • Collaborate on Library PPA for different technologies, architectures, and PDK releases.
    • Develop standard cell circuits that enhance design PPA.
    • Participate in verifying the IP in test chips and benchmarking new tech/PDK libraries in the PNR block.
    • Conduct Library Characterization (Timing/Power/Variability, etc.) for all libraries.
    • Engage with CPU, SOC, and GPU teams on physical design requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    We are seeking a Digital Circuit Design Engineer with the following qualifications:

    • Thorough understanding of CMOS device characteristics and design rules.
    • Strong knowledge of digital circuits and optimization techniques for improved PPA.
    • Proficiency in layout design and parasitic optimization across various layouts.
    • Hands-on experience in running SPICE simulations and high sigma variation analysis.
    • Experience in designing high-performance circuits like flip flops, level shifters, and retention flops.
    • Experience with RTL2GDSII flow and/or Static Timing Analysis (STA).
    • Familiarity with deep submicron process challenges and Finfet Technologies.
    • Understanding of Timing characterization and modeling of Standard cell circuits.
    • Strong skills in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Tcl.
    • Excellent team player with effective communication and analytical abilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education & Experience

    BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
