    Job Responsibilities

    General Responsibility:Under general supervision, responsible for the contracts/procurement of information technology-related hardware, software and supplies for SLED. Works with IT management through the negotiation and selection process of vendors and reviews the proposed agreements with the Legal Counsel. Oversees the management of the hardware and software contracts as well as the maintenance agreements.

    Specific Duties:
    • Coordinates the review of software and hardware maintenance agreements and subscriptions to ensure that all contracts are current and paid on time to eliminate the chance of any lapse of technology contracts.
    • Responsible for the purchase of technology hardware and software products including computer peripherals, printer toner, software licenses and computer hardware for the entire agency. Ensures that all technology purchases are received and delivered to the correct department. Responsible for entering all technology-related shopping carts into SCEIS and assisting with other general goods shopping carts. Coordinate all purchasing workflows.
    • Responsible for maintaining records of software license compliance.
    • Assist the Information Technology management team with the preparation of departmental annual budgets and plans. Coordinate with SLED budgeting office on annual budgetary requirements as it relates to technology purchases, licensing and maintenance agreements.
    • Coordinates the daily activities related to inventory control, ordering, receiving, tagging, issuing and transferring related IT equipment.
    • Assists the IT Asset Coordinator in planning, implementing, and coordinating physical inventory and preparation for surplus and/or electronic recycling.
    Minimum and Additional Requirements
    • A bachelor's degree and 1 - 2 years of experience in administering contracts and performing procurement duties. The bachelor's degree may be substituted with relevant experience on a year-for-year basis pending final approval by SLED's Office of Human Resources.

    • Knowledge of South Carolina state procurement rules and regulations.
    • Candidate must possess the ability to work independently and exercise sound discretion and judgement with general supervision.
    • Employee may be required to travel to include overnight travel.
    • Must be able to lift 15-50 pounds.
    • Candidate must pass a federal fingerprint background check.
