Job Summary: Setups and operates welding equipment safely, productively, and ergonomically correct while manufacturing quality parts and assemblies. Required Skills/Abilities: o Previous manufacturing experience preferred. o MIG welding experience. o Proficiently welds Galvanized steel, Carbon Steel, and Stainless steel. o Ability to reach a tape measure in fractions and decimals. o Must be able to review and interpret symbols, part numbers, tolerance, data critical to quality and weld placements on blueprints. o Ability to work independently to complete work to print requirement. o Can apply basic math to determine dimensions needed. Responsibilities: o Setups and operates welders to hand weld products in a safe, efficient, quality, and ergonomic manner. o Adjusts welders as needed to maintain part quality. o Capable of setting own machine for materials welded, producing little smoke or splatter. o Produces acceptable-quality welds with good workmanship and very few rejects. o Consistently produces at an acceptable level of productivity with some supervision. o Has ability to produce products in fixtures and which components are required for the products. o Produces high quality welds with good workmanship and minimal rejects. o Completes own work to print requirements. o Reads and understands prints and symbols. o Able to manufacture products to specifications without a fixture. This is accomplished using weld table, prints, tapes measure, protractor, clamps, etc. o Professionally communicates production issues, seeks clarification and resolution from front line employees and management. o Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements. o Performs other duties as assigned.
