    Job Description

    As an administrative assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to management with clerical and administrative tasks. This includes preparing purchase orders, maintaining petty cash accounts, and administering employee benefits.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Type or prepare a variety of letters, memos, forms, and reports from handwritten drafts or verbal instructions.
    2. Prepare and place purchase orders as needed.
    3. Maintain, reconcile, and disburse for petty cash account.
    4. Administer employee benefits for the division, including answering employee questions, processing forms, and maintaining HR policies.
    5. Use office machines such as personal computers, typewriters, adding machines, calculators, photocopiers, and other standard office equipment.
    6. Screen telephone calls, incoming mail, publications, and other correspondence.
    7. Collect information needed by manager for conferences, reports, and projects.
    8. Make travel and lodging arrangements for manager and staff as required.
    9. Coordinate arrangements for manager's meetings.
    10. Furnish and follow up on requests from other plants, divisions, and/or corporate.
    11. May perform other duties as needed.

    Educational Requirements

    An Associate's degree (AA) from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

    Skills and Knowledge Required

    The following skills and knowledge are required for this position: Language Skills, Math Skills, Reasoning Ability, Typing speed of 60 w.p.m., elementary computer knowledge, general knowledge of human resources, basic knowledge of accounting procedures, word processing and spreadsheet software packages, and data entry.
