- Offers independent care tailored to the unit's specific patient demographic; acts as a clinical point of reference, incorporates evidence-based practices, and adeptly fulfills unit-specific roles (e.g., ICU arrest team, ED triage).
- Functions as an efficient primary coordinating nurse; collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to strategize and organize care that meets patient and family requirements.
- Acts as a clinical mentor for peers.
- Contributes to team enhancement and the assessment of the Relationship-Based Care model; proposes enhancements and engages in data collection related to Relationship-Based Care outcomes (e.g., handovers, medication safety).
- Participates in initiatives aimed at improving Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).
- Must hold a Registered Nurse license in Maryland or be eligible to practice under Compact state agreements recognized by the MD Board of Nursing; a BSN is desirable. All mandatory training and courses must be up to date.
