    Description

    Overview:
    This individual will be a seasoned credit professional with experience in leveraged finance.


    This position 1) manages the applicable credit policy, 2) provides oversight and challenge of business unit strategy, 3) monitors the business unit's operations (including underwriting quality, adherence to the Bank's risk appetite and consistency with the stated strategy) and 4) adjudicates a portion of the individual credit approvals.

    The individual is also tasked with managing interactions with internal and 3rd party constituencies related to the segment's credit profile, direction and operations.

    The position includes secondary responsibility for coverage of other portfolio segments as directed for backup and load balancing purposes.


    Responsibilities:

    • Credit Policy
    • Credit Policy Update and change (as appropriate) corporatelevel credit risk policies and standards which set the framework for credit risk measurement, monitoring and limit setting within the leveraged finance business.


    • Effective Challenge
    • Effective Challenge Interaction with and challenge of the business on the implementation of policy and the documentation of business strategy.
    Proving evidence of this challenge through various reporting mechanisms.

    • Oversight and Monitoring
    • Oversight and Monitoring Oversight of the business through the monitoring of reporting, periodic sampling of credit approvals, participation in portfolio review meetings, etc.
    Documenting finding arising from these activities and presenting them at management forms as appropriate.

    • Credit Approval
    • Credit Approval Reviewing credit approval recommendations in a timely manner that are not approved in the business.
    To include confirmation that the information is accurate, complete and relevant and that the financial analysis, credit terms and structure are appropriate for the credit in question.

    • Other
    • Other Provide analysis, reporting and insights into the business to internal committees and other relevant audiences including credit review, internal audit, regulators, etc.
    Assist in ensuring that the business unit is also providing information and interacting with these various groups timely and accurately.


    The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally from $312,720 to $416,9600 per year.

    This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay.

    Qualifications:

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:


    Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of risk management experience within a leveraged finance or related business OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of risk management experience within a leveraged finance or related business.


    PREFERED REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong background in credit risk management for financial services institutions, preferably with emphasis on the leveraged finance sector.
    • Outstanding knowledge of credit risk management concepts, frameworks, methods and sound governance practices.
    • Broad understanding and knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory expectations for risk management.
    • Thorough understanding of regulatory processes, activities and requirements. Strong relationships and an outstanding reputation with key regulatory officials.
    • Excellent academic credentials.
